EPECUÉN 3D (2020) is a tribute to Villa Epecuén, a village in the Province of Buenos Aires that has been in ruins since 1985 due to a devastating flood caused by the overflow of the lagoon that gave it its name. In an effort to keep its memory alive, this artwork provides an augmented reality recreation of the village, utilizing generative art techniques and artificial intelligence to reproduce missing spaces. The different models of the immersive environment were created from archive material donated by the Carhué Museum (Adolfo Alsina Municipality, Province of Buenos Aires) and seamlessly integrated with the Unreal Engine graphics engine through Blender. The objective of this project is to serve as a support for the collective memory of places that no longer exist, or are abandoned or in ruins.
